Hop Haus Restaurant Opens in 49th Ward

Posted: 4/3/2009

Dear Neighbor,

In the midst of this severe recession, it's more important than ever to support our long-time local businesses and make our new businesses feel welcome.  In that spirit, I'd like to welcome the newest restaurant to the 49th Ward community--The Hop Haus.

Located at 7545 N. Clark St. (just south of Howard), The Hop Haus features 26 gourmet burgers, ranging from a good 'ol beef burger with cheddar cheese to more exotic patty choices such as ostrich, lamb, wild boar, Cajun fried catfish and kangaroo.  Are you interested in sampling one of the more exotic choices, but don't want to order an entire burger?  Hop Haus offers the same exotic burger choice in a mini-burger version.

Not a red meat fan?  Not to worry.  The Hop Haus offers an array of other food choices, including salads, wraps and pizzas.

Beverages include 34 craft and premium beers from throughout the world and seasonal cocktails, such as the "rhubarb riot" with fresh rhubarb juice, Laird's Applejack and Mathilde Framboise.  Plus there's a global wine list with about a dozen by-the-glass choices.

The Hop Haus also offers a weekend breakfast every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a Friday fish fry.

If you're a big sports fan, dozens of big screen TVs offer you every sport imaginable.

The Hop Haus is located at Gateway Centre, so there's plenty of free parking.

The Hop Haus is owned and operated by the same folks who own the Leona's restaurant chain, including the Leona's at Sheridan and Morse, so you know the food will be good, plentiful and affordable.

So stop in and say "hello" to Sam and Leon!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
