Discuss Recession Impact at Good News Community Kitchen Forum
Dear Neighbor,
Please join me for a LEGISLATIVE FORUM on the current economic crisis. Sponsored by Northside POWER , a grassroots community organization that addresses systemic hunger and poverty issues in Rogers Park, the forum will be held TODAY, Thursday, December 18th, 4:30 p.m., at the Good News Community Kitchen, 7649 N. Paulina.
Joining me will be Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, State Senator Heather Steans,State Representative Julie Hamos, and Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin . Together we will discuss efforts to address the human costs of the economic recession at the federal, state, county and city level. The panel will be moderated by Michael James, President of the 49th Ward Democratic Party and co-owner of the renowned Heartland Cafe.
The economic downturn has hit all levels of society, but those most directly affected are the poor, the unemployed and the homeless. Hear what your local legislators are doing to help those most vulnerable to the current crisis.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
