Sample Ballot for Tuesday's Election
Dear Neighbor,
As you know, one of the most important elections in our lifetime will be held on Tuesday. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
To find your polling place location, CLICK HERE or call my Ward Service Office at 773-338-5796.
You will vote on an array of races for federal, state and local offices. You will also vote on whether certain appellate and circuit court judges should retain their seats. Seventy judges will be on the "judicial retention ballot," making it impossible for even the most experienced lawyer, let alone the average voter, to make an intelligent decision on the qualifications of each judge.
I have provided a JUDICIAL RETENTION SAMPLE BALLOT from the Committee to Elect Qualified Judges, an arm of the Chicago Council of Lawyers. The Council of Lawyers is a non-partisan, progressive and reform-minded bar association. In every election, they engage in a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of each judge up for retention. The Committee to Elect Qualified Judges uses the Council's evaluations in making its recommendations.
I urge you to examine the Council's evaluations and abide by the Committee's recommendations when you vote. For a copy of the Council's judicial evaluation report, visit their web site, www.chicagocouncil.org.

I hope you find it to be a helpful guide as you vote on Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
