Last Day To Vote!! "What Makes Your Place Great?" Contest

Today is your last chance to vote the Glenwood Avenue Arts District in the Placemaking Chicago Contest!!!

This summer, the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) has joined forces with the Metropolitan Planning Council to seek out all the hidden gems that Chicago has to offer! From many submissions, a panel has selected photo and video finalists including the Glenwood Arts District! Four winners will be selected, one through online voting (August 9 - September 10), and three by a panel of experts. Winners will receive exciting prizes and the chance to have their public space get featured on an exclusive CAF tour in October.

Loyola University Chicago's One Day Youth Basketball Clinics

The women's basketball staff at LUC has announced one-day clinics for first through eighth grade students to promote youth skill and inspire interest in the game. Each session is limited to 40 players on a first come first serve basis. The cost for each clinic is $75. The times will be as follows:

12:00 PM - 3:00 PM = 1st through 4th grader boys and girls
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM = 5th and 6th grade boys and 5th to 8th grade girls

This 2010 Annual benefit gala celebrating twenty memorable years will feature keynote speaker Ms. Padmasree Warrior, Chief Technology Officer of Cisco Systems and Master of Ceremonies Mr. Ravi Baichwal, News anchor, ABC7 News. The IAC proudly serves community members of all backgrounds in immigration services, public benefits assistance, a civics program, literacy courses, computer classes and programs for seniors and youth. Funds gathered from this gala will directly support the IAC's services.
