Calling All Artists: CTA to Select Artwork for Howard El Station

Dear Neighbor,

Like all new transit stations, the new Howard CTA El Station will feature a permanent work of original art.  The CTA will soon begin the process for selecting the artist and the artwork.  The 49th Ward is home to scores of artists, and I think it would be wonderful if a local artist's work could be featured.

If you are an artist interested in participating in the competition, or simply a neighborhood resident who loves the arts, please join the CTA Arts in Transit Program for a Community Meeting this Monday, April 28th, 7:00 p.m. at my 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview.   Officials from the CTA Arts in Transit Program will be on hand to introduce the arts project and explain the process for commissioning original artwork.
