Dear Neighbor,

Would you like to maintain a healthier diet and protect our planet at the same time?  Join us for the latest WHY GREEN MATTERS HERE workshop "Food Choices for Healthy Bodies and a Healthy Planet."  The workshop will be held this Monday, March 24th, 6:30 p.m., at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the Lake), 2nd Floor.

Moderated by Katy Hogan, co-owner of the Heartland Cafe, and featuring leaders in community supported agriculture, fair trade practices and organics, the workshop will cover the current state of food alternatives available in the Chicago area.  We'll discuss the challenges and successes of the movement for a coherent sustainable food policy system and the global impact of our food choices.

Speakers will include Debbie Hillman of the Talking Farm, Orrin Williams of Growing Home, Inc., Nancy Jones of Chicago Fair Trade , Michael James of the Heartland Cafe, Paula Companio of True Nature, and John Hoekwater of the Gale Academy Greenhouse.

From the new nearby farm in Evanston to the successes of the community supported agriculture movement in Chicago and beyond, you'll learn about both farmers markets and fair trade.  We'll share information and conversation about how we can make a difference through our food choices and habits.

And we'll share some tasty samples!

We hope to see you on Monday!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
