Alderman Moore Speaks Out on Mayor's Budget and Tax Proposals
Dear Neighbor,
The Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune reported yesterday that Mayor Daley may consider lowering his proposed property tax increase and instead increase other taxes and fees. I remain very skeptical of any proposed increase in taxes and fees without a greater commitment on the part of the Mayor to root out corruption, waste and inefficiency in City government.
I recently appeared on WTTW's Chicago Tonight show to discuss the proposed budget and revenue increases. With me on the show were the Mayor's budget director, Bennett Johnston, and my City Council colleague, 22nd Ward Alderman Ricardo Munoz.
A two-part, 15 minute video of the show is now available on You Tube. Here's Part One and Part Two.
Once again, I invite you to share with me your opinion of the Mayor's proposals. You may reply to this e-mail or feel free to call me at 773-338-5796.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
