    Over the last two weeks, my Ward Service Office staff and I have taken to the streets with our "Satellite Service Office." We're halfway through our tour, having visited all the CTA and Metra stops in the 49th Ward, meeting with morning commuters and taking service requests.

  • Green Corps "Swap" (Free Yard Sale) Coming Soon!

    You may recall a few weeks ago, I sent you an e-mail about our "TRASH TO TREASURE SWAP" sponsored by my office, the 49th Ward Green Corps and the City of Chicago Department of Environment. It takes place the weekend of October 4th and 5th at 2017 W. Howard (site of the former Dearborn Wholesale Grocery and Hi Neighbor Grocery).

  • Community Meeting to Review Proposed Artwork at Howard El Station

    Dear Neighbor,

    The CTA Arts in Transit Program has nominated 16 Artists/Artist Teams-- including three 49th Ward artists--as finalists for the competition to commission permanent artwork for the new Howard El Station.

    I invite you to attend a community meeting to review and comment on the finalists' proposals. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 24th, 7:00 p.m., at the Gale Community Center (Howard and Marsfield).
