  • Alderman Moore's Decision on Jarvis Square Traffic & Parking Proposals

    Dear Neighbor,

    Over the last few months, I have hosted several community meetings to discuss parking and traffic issues in the Jarvis Square business district (Jarvis and Greenview). The discussions focused on two proposals to support the continued revitalization of the business district: (1) the conversion of Jarvis Avenue from a one-way street to a two-way street from either Sheridan to Ashland or Sheridan to Clark and (2) the installation of parking meters in Jarvis Square.

  • Alderman Moore's Back to School Picnic This Sunday!

    Dear Neighbor,

    Please join me for my 18th Annual BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC, this Sunday, August 24th, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Loyola Park (Farwell and the Lake).

    While we will be emphasizing the importance of kids returning to school, this a community picnic for people of all ages. We'll be serving up free food, drinks and music and offering a host of games and prizes.

  • Community Meeting to Review Proposal for Zoning Change at 1532 W. Juneway

  • Gale Community Center Now Open; Boys & Girls Club Seeking Home in the 49th Ward

    The Gale Community Center at Howard and Marshfield is now open. The 18,000-sqaure-foot Chicago Park District facility comes complete with a full-size gym, a fitness center and a large club room, which can be subdivided into two smaller rooms.

  • Meeting on CTA's Request for TIF Assistance for Howard El Station

    I invite you to attend a community meeting to review a recent request by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for funding from the Howard-Paulina Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District to subsidize additional improvements to the new Howard El Station.
