Condominium Training An Overwhelming Hit

Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for your overwhelming response to the Condominium Association and Board Training Workshop provided by Lakeside Community Development Corporation at my Ward Service Office. Due to the overwhelming demand (over 200 responses within 24 hours) those workshops are now all filled.
Lakeside CDC has scheduled another free workshop on Saturday July 28 at the Edgewater Library. Please call Lakeside CDC to register at 773-381-5253.

Ninety Units of Affordable Rental Housing Preserved in Rogers Park

Operation Triple Threat

Dear Neighbor,
I'm pleased to report that Chicago and Evanston police successfully shut down two open air drug markets in the Howard Street area. As a result of an undercover investigation, 19 members of the Insane Black Mafia Street Gang were arrested. Coined "Operation Triple Threat," the investigation represents the first joint operation between Chicago and Evanston police this year in an effort to dismantle illegal narcotics sales.

This spring we have seen a wonderful new commitment to these activities by small groups of neighbors, block clubs, businesses and the newly formed Rogers Park Garden Group. Beatifully planted parkways and street corners are popping up all around the community. And you can help this weekend - no green thumb required.

The Common Cup's Official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

Pleased join me for the official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the Common Cup, Rogers Park's newest coffee house, located at 1501 W. Morse (southwest corner of Morse and Greenview). The event will take place on Wednesday, June 13th, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., and will be held in conjunction with Rogers Park BizArt's monthly networking breakfast. I will also bring my 49th Ward "Satellite Service Office" to the event, where my staff will be available to take city service requests.
